Just watched the first episode of Game of Thrones again. The wedding between the dragon girl and the horse guy was filmed here. I remember when I first watched it a couple of years ago I thought ‘cool special effects’…. cause nowhere like that could exist, right? How wrong. This shot is taken from a boat and looks back at where the wedding was staged. Apparently the tons of sand used to ‘dress’ the area for filming destroyed the local ecology and the crew were banned from Malta for the second season.
