Sitting here watching the election. Looks like the Conservatives are going to get in. Maybe a hung parliament. We’ll find out in a few hours. Everyone prepare to riot!

Hmmm. I open the brand new issue of Computer Music and what do I see? Page 64 tells me I could record the sound of a wine glass and use it as an instrument. Oh, and I could shake a jar of rice and use that sound as a ‘shaker’. This annoys me a little as my new song uses these themes. At least this website has documented the creation of the new CONFESSION OF THE WHOLE SCHOOL song. It proves it was well underway before publication of this magazine. This band will not be accused of blindly following the advice of a magazine! 😉

(actually… for the record, I’d recommend Computer Music to anyone. Great magazine. It would certainly be an ambition to get a song onto the cover disc)

The continuing saga of the new song…

Just added some ‘percussion’ using a tube of pringles. I think the fact that this tube had just been found in the garage, lost to the world, had a dramatic effect on the timbre of the tube. I think the mice may have given the tube a lighter, more sprightly tone by pissing on it!

So… the time has come! I broke out the real instruments today and laid some tracks over the rattling cornflakes packet. This new song is starting to take on a life of its own. Blood is beginning to pulse through this monster’s body. I reckon this could be a future epic.

Just a little ol’ bit of acoustic guitar at the moment. But I have ideas and designs for a huge end section. I just have to put all my effort into pulling it off. Wish me luck!

So, the new song is coming on very nicely. It still has no real instruments!

I’ve just completed a little section by shaking a box of crunchy nut cornflakes. Rock and roll!!!

I’ve got to say… this song is starting to sound superb. I can hear the beginnings of greatness! It is seriously kicking my arse at the moment! I have a hell of a way to go with it though…

A good episode of Doctor Who tonight. Makes a change 🙂 . I suppose it’s a bit sad making any kind of admission to being a Sci-Fi fan… but, what the hell! Someone’s got to watch these shows. They should put me in charge of the music though – I’d soon sort that out! Nice bit of shenanigans with Amy at the end too! 😉

Anyone who’s into this kind of stuff really should give the great, but unfinished, Firefly a watch.

I’ve been working on the new song today. I’ve done a bit of ‘beat-boxing’. So far there are still no conventional instruments on the track. It is certainly sounding interesting. I think this one could be something special!

The new song is coming on well. So far it is constructed entirely from the noises a wine glass can make. It is sounding really unique!

Anyway, I have been tinkering (yet again!!!) with the comedy is over. Can’t seem to leave it alone. I have just adjusted a few levels. You will all appreciate it when you listen to the final set of songs as a whole. There are so many bands out there… so many myspace pages and the like. You need bands like CONFESSION OF THE WHOLE SCHOOL to maintain standards!!! 😉

Recording session for a new song starts tonight. Involves creating sine waves from wine glasses. I have never sipped so much water in my life! Also clanking multiple glasses with a teaspoon to simulate bells. Trying to record the song without using keyboards!
